Tuesday 10/15/2024 I packed up my trusty Nikon D5100 and SLIK tripod and headed over to Daniels Park in Sedalia, CO to try to capture my first comet. I met a few people and we talked about the Northern Lights while waiting for it to get dark enough to hopefully get a glimpse of this spectacular comet. At around 7:15 it made it’s self clear to the naked eye and most of us present took pictures with either camera’s or our smart phones. Below you will see my results of both my DLSR and smart phone.
Update 11-9-24: I’ve added a new picture taken on 10/23/2024, also after talking with my father and going through some old pictures. This is the second comet I have photographed. The first was Hale-Bopp photographed from Conifer, CO on 3/29/1997 click here to see that image.
